Senior Electrical Engineer – National Capital Region (Ottawa-Gatineau)

Our client is a nationally recognized multidisciplinary design practice bringing together architects, engineers, planners, landscape architects, interior designers and sustainability specialists to deliver some of Canada's most complex and impactful projects. As the firm continues to expand its presence in Ottawa, they are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to help build and lead an expanding electrical engineering practice in Ottawa and contribute to the growth of an integrated architecture and engineering practice in the National Capital Region (Ottawa-Gatineau).

Working alongside architects, engineers and other design professionals, the successful candidate will play a leadership role in project delivery, client development, team growth and the continued evolution of the firm's Ottawa practice.

The Ottawa team is involved in the delivery of significant government, institutional and secure facilities projects where electrical engineering plays a critical role in operational performance, communications infrastructure, security systems and mission-critical environments. As the local practice continues to grow, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help build electrical engineering capability in Ottawa while leveraging the resources, expertise and reputation of a leading national design firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical engineering solutions for complex building and infrastructure projects

  • Provide technical leadership throughout all phases of project development and execution

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers and project stakeholders in an integrated design environment

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and industry partners

  • Support business development activities, project pursuits and strategic growth initiatives

  • Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate electrical engineering professionals

  • Contribute to the growth and strengthening of the firm's electrical engineering practice in Ottawa

  • Participate in multidisciplinary project teams focused on innovation, sustainability and design excellence

  • Support project delivery within government, institutional, secure and mission-critical environments

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring:

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation

  • Progressive leadership experience within a consulting engineering environment

  • Experience delivering electrical engineering solutions for government buildings, institutional facilities, secure environments, mission-critical facilities, commercial developments or complex infrastructure projects

  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, lighting, communications, security and integrated building systems

  • Experience working within highly specialized environments where operational continuity, security and technical performance are essential

  • An established professional network within the National Capital Region

  • Demonstrated success developing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities

  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to help grow a practice and build a team

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset
